U.S. Lawmaker Welcomes Reported Arrest of Alleged Fulani Militia Figure in Nigeria
October 3, 2026
U.S. Rep. Riley Moore publicly welcomed the reported arrest in Nigeria of Mahmoud Adam, whom Moore described as a radical Islamic Fulani terrorist leader responsible for attacks on Christians.
Reporting indicates Adam was detained in Plateau State in September. Accounts linking him to leadership of the Fulani Ethnic Militia rely in part on whistleblower and intelligence-source allegations.
Evidence distinction: I have not found a Nigerian court judgment or official government record establishing the terrorism allegations as proven fact. Adam should therefore be described as an alleged militia or terrorist figure, and Moore’s statements should be treated as political and religious rhetoric rather than a judicial finding.
